Welcome

On behalf of the IPMHVC and EIC organizing committee, we would like to invite you to attend the co-located 2020 IEEE International Power Modulator and High Voltage Conference (IPMHVC) and the Electrical Insulation Conference (EIC), to be held June 7-11 at the Knoxville Convention Center, Knoxville, Tennessee, USA.

Knoxville is in the heart of East Tennessee located in the foothills of the nearby Smoky Mountains. It is one of the most beautiful areas in the United States. Guests can visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most popular national park in the country. Knoxville’s revitalized urban center is teeming with local shops, restaurants and entertainment venues, all within easy walking distance of to the Convention Center.

2020 IEEE Power Modulator and High Voltage Conference

The IPMHVC conference has traditionally been held every two years and is an applied and research-oriented conference concerning repetitive pulsed power and power modulator technology, as well as high voltage theory, components, diagnostics, and subsystems.  The IPMHVC Technical Program will cover our traditional subjects in Dielectrics, Electromagnetic Phenomena, Emitters, High Voltage and Power Modulator Components, and Power Modulator Systems and Applications.  We will feature up to three short courses.  The event will include exhibitions representing state-of-the-art capabilities from government, universities, and industry. Specific technical topics include power conditioning and pulse shaping, high energy systems, energy storage devices and components, rotating machines and energy converters, high rep-rate systems and thermal management, high voltage design and analysis, high power microwaves and antennas, electromagnetic propagation, and prime power systems.

The IPMHVC is sponsored by the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society, and technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society / Pulsed Power Science & Technology committee.

The Abstract Submission website for the IPMHVC will open November 1, 2019.

2020 Electrical Insulation Conference

The EIC is an annual applied conference on liquid, solid, and gaseous materials based in the Americas. The EIC Technical Program will cover practical application, analysis, and service experience of liquid, solid and gaseous insulation. The pre-conference event features short courses from well-known technical experts in areas of partial discharge, transformers, and rotating machinery. Exhibits and technical papers include the latest development of electrical insulation materials, condition assessment and diagnostics, instrumentation, transformers, switchgear, outdoor insulation, cable diagnostics, nano-dielectrics, testing technologies and others. Immediately after the Conference, a series of IEEE working group meetings will be held for discussions related to new IEEE standards and revisions to existing standards related to insulating materials. As usual, IEEE working group meetings are open to all interested guest participants. The papers present practical applications of electrical insulating systems and materials and diagnostics, for all types of electrical and electronic equipment will be presented in a concurrently running tracks or poster sessions.

Abstracts are now being accepted for the EIC.

Submission deadline is October 15, 2019.

Exhibitor registration is also open.

The EIC is sponsored by the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society.

You are invited to participate in both conferences as an author, exhibitor, and/or delegate for the cost of one registration fee. The single registration fee will allow access to all presentations, social events, and exhibits. You will also receive the proceedings of both conferences.

Come join us in beautiful Knoxville, June 7-11, 2020!
